Eating Disorders

 

Beyond just our physical survival, food plays an important part in our social and cultural well being both of which are also essential to a balanced, happy and healthy way of life. However, the ease with which we can secure and consume the processed foods we eat today, their appeal to our senses of taste and smell, the chemical nature of many ingredients, have distorted our body’s ability determine what it needs and when we have eaten enough.

In the UK one in four adults struggle with obesity, and this imbalance can lead to other serious health issues. Treating this imbalance energetically will also help to restore a sense of self worth, an appreciation of who they are and gratitude for what they have.  Through this the need to over indulge becomes replaced with a more balanced approach to life and well being and a true appreciation of essential and life giving food. 

The Ancient Chinese emphasized the need for moderation in all things and tried to live and eat simply, to neither overtax the mind or the body.  They understood that we stay alive thanks to ‘mother earth’ who provides the food that we eat to sustain us, together with our ‘father in the heavens’ who provides the air we breath that inspires us.
